Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This Privacy Policy explains how Queens Puzzle ("we", "us", the "App") collects, uses, and shares information when you play. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.
We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or password. You play through an anonymous account that the App creates automatically.
1. Who We Are
Queens Puzzle is a chess-style puzzle game for iOS. For any privacy question or request, contact us at hoholapps@gmail.com.
2. Your Anonymous Account
When you first open the App, we create an anonymous account using Firebase Authentication. This assigns a random, stable identifier to your installation so your progress, scores, and purchases can be saved and synced. This identifier is not linked to your real-world identity, and we do not collect names, emails, passwords, or social logins.
3. Information We Collect
a. Account & profile
- Anonymous user ID — the random identifier described above.
- Username — an optional display name you choose, shown on the leaderboard. Please do not include personal information in it.
- Account timestamps (when the account was created and last updated).
b. Gameplay & statistics
- Scores (weekly and total) and leaderboard ranking.
- In-game coin balance and owned/equipped cosmetic queen styles.
- Progress and play statistics — levels completed, daily streaks, win streaks, best times, hints used, queens placed, total time played, and similar gameplay metrics.
c. Purchases
- Whether you have purchased Remove Ads, and a record of coin purchases used to fulfil rewards and to prevent fraud.
- We do not receive or store your credit-card or payment details — payments are processed by Apple, and purchase validation is handled by our payments provider (see §5).
d. Information stored only on your device
- Your current level and per-level records, app preferences (theme, language, sound, and haptics), and a first-launch flag, saved locally in app storage.
- A local offline copy of your profile and stats so the App works without a connection.
e. Advertising & diagnostics
- Advertising — to show ads, our advertising partner (Google AdMob) may access a device advertising identifier (IDFA), approximate (coarse) location, and limited device and usage data (see §4 and §5).
- Crash diagnostics — we collect crash reports and basic diagnostic data (e.g., device model, OS version, app version) to fix bugs. These reports are not used to identify you.
- Analytics & performance — we use Google Analytics for Firebase to collect aggregated usage events (such as screens viewed, levels played, and ad interactions), and Firebase Performance Monitoring to measure app performance. This helps us understand engagement and improve the App; it is not used to identify you.
4. Advertising & Tracking
The App shows ads (banner, interstitial, and optional rewarded ads) through Google AdMob, unless you purchase Remove Ads. On first ad-related use, iOS may present an App Tracking Transparency prompt asking permission to track you across other apps and websites:
- If you allow tracking, ads may be personalized using your device advertising identifier.
- If you do not allow tracking, you will still see ads, but non-personalized ones.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we use Google's User Messaging Platform to present a consent message after the introductory tutorial and before any ads load, asking whether your data may be used for personalized advertising. No advertising identifier is requested until you have responded, and no ads are shown during onboarding. You can change this choice at any time from Settings › Ad Privacy Options inside the App.
Where permitted, AdMob may also use approximate (coarse) location (for example derived from your IP address) to help select relevant ads.
We also use Apple's SKAdNetwork, which measures advertising performance in a privacy-preserving way without identifying you. You can change tracking permission at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
5. Third-Party Services
We rely on the following service providers, who process data on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own policies:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Crashlytics, Analytics, Performance Monitoring, App Check) — anonymous accounts, cloud save/sync of profile and stats, leaderboard, server-side validation, crash reporting, usage analytics and performance monitoring, and anti-abuse. See Firebase Privacy and the Google Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat — manages and validates in-app purchases and the Remove Ads entitlement, linked to your anonymous user ID. See RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
- Google AdMob — serves ads and measures ad performance, and uses Google's User Messaging Platform to collect your ad-consent choices. See How AdMob uses data.
- Apple App Store — processes all payments and manages subscriptions and purchase history. See Apple Privacy Policy.
6. How We Use Information
- To run the game — save progress, sync across launches, and compute scores and the leaderboard.
- To deliver rewards, manage coins, and unlock cosmetics and Remove Ads.
- To show ads and support the App where you have not purchased Remove Ads.
- To keep the game fair — validate scores and purchases on our servers and prevent cheating and fraud.
- To diagnose crashes and improve stability.
7. Fair Play & Security
Sensitive values such as scores, coins, the Remove Ads flag, and owned items are written only by our servers (Cloud Functions), never directly by the app, to prevent tampering. We use Firebase App Check to help ensure requests come from a genuine copy of the App.
8. International Transfers
Our providers (Google, RevenueCat, Apple) operate globally and may process and store data on servers in the United States and other countries. By using the App, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own.
9. Data Retention
We keep your anonymous account and associated game data for as long as the App stores it on our servers. Weekly scores reset on a regular weekly schedule. Locally stored data is removed when you delete and reinstall the App. You can request deletion of your cloud data as described below.
10. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information (for example under the GDPR or CCPA). Because accounts are anonymous, please email us from the device or include enough detail to identify your data. To request access or deletion, contact hoholapps@gmail.com. You can also manage ad tracking in iOS Settings and, where shown, change your personalized-ads consent from Settings › Ad Privacy Options in the App (see §4).
11. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may be highlighted in the App.
